Baseball Legend Eddie Murray Charged With Insider Trading By The SEC Read more

Former professional baseball player Eddie Murray (a.k.a “Steady Eddie”) was slapped with insider trading charges by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the regulatory agency said in a release Friday

Murray, who played for the Baltimore Orioles and the LA Dodgers during his career, settled with the SEC without admitting or denying charges, the release said.

He wasn’t the only one hit with insider trading charges today either, the release shows.

The SEC said these charges relate to an insider trading case brought forth last year accusing ex Oriole’s player Doug DeCinces and three others trading on non-public information ahead of an acquisition of Advanced Medical Optics Inc. by Abbott Laboratories.
